Girl, 15, raped near football pitch as investigation launched

An investigation has been launched after a 15-year-old girl was raped near a football pitch in Oban.

Emergency services were called to a serious sexual assault in Glenvista Mossfield Avenue, at Mossfield Stadium, at around 11.15pm on Saturday.

Police remain in the area as investigations are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.15pm on Saturday, 25 July, 2026, we received a report of the serious sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl on Glenvista Mossfield Avenue, Oban.

“Enquiries are ongoing and officers will remain in the area.”
