Schoolgirl taken to hospital after being struck by car outside primary

A schoolgirl has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car outside a primary school in Glasgow’s West End.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Gibson Street at around 1.30pm on Thursday.

The 12-year-old was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children, where her condition is currently unknown.

The road was re-opened at around 2.30pm as enquiries into the incident continue.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a 12-year-old girl having been struck by a car on Gibson Street in Glasgow around 1.30pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022.

“The girl has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and the road was re-opened around 2.30pm.”
