Buchanan Bus Station has reopened after passengers were evacuated amid reports a “suspicious package” was discovered in the concourse.
Police locked down the area surrounding the terminus while bomb disposal experts assessed whether the unknown item was dangerous.
Services were initially prevented from arriving at or leaving the station while the incident was ongoing, while Killermont Street, North Hanover Street and Cowcaddens Road were closed off to traffic and pedestrians.
However, “no threat” was found – despite British Army explosive ordnance disposal teams arriving on the scene.
A Police Scotland statement read: “Buchanan Bus Station, Killermont Street, North Hanover Street and Cowcaddens Road, Glasgow have now reopened following an earlier report of a suspicious package.
“There was no threat to the public.”
