A social care worker has been removed from the register after he was convicted of sexually assaulting two vulnerable service users.

Brian McFadden was employed by a service in Glasgow which helps women who may have experienced significant trauma during their lives.

In July 2020 the carer attacked one service user on a number of occasions, kissing her on the mouth and placing his hand under her clothing.

McFadden targeted a second victim on various occasions between December 1, 2020 and February 24, 2021, by entering her room uninvited and making sexual remarks.

McFadden was convicted at Glasgow Sheriff Court on June 7, 2024.

The Scottish Social Services Council stated that the carer abused his position of trust to ‘form inappropriate relationships with vulnerable service users.’

The report read: “Your behaviour falls far below the standards expected of social services workers.

“There was a pattern of behaviour involving two different service users which raises concerns over your values.

“You have not demonstrated insight or understanding into the seriousness of this matter. As such, the SSSC cannot be satisfied that this behaviour will not be repeated in the future.”
