A Glasgow craft brewery has been purchased after the court appointed a liquidator and issued a wind-up order.
Overtone Brewing was founded in 2018 by Bowei Wang and Dan Miller in the Yoker area of the city.
The brand became popular amongst craft beer drinkers for its eye-catching, colourful cans.
On February 13, the business was issued with a wind-up order by the courts, which forces an insolvent company into compulsory liquidation.
However, Glasgow-based Inn House Brewery Company, which sells home brewing supplies, has stepped in to purchase Overtone Brewery.
Thomas McKay, a partner for liquidators BTG Begbies Traynor, told STV News: “Following a review of the financial position of the company it was no longer sustainable to continue to trade due to the level of accumulated debts, and with no viable investment available, the company directors took the decision to place the company into liquidation and cease to trade.
“The business and assets were acquired by Inn House Brewery Company, who have since approached some of the affected workforce to assess future employment.”
