EverLovedA Scottish man has been shot dead by police in America after a “disturbance” outside his home.
Gregor Fleming from Glasgow, who lived in Hampden Township, Cumberland County in Pennsylvania was shot by police after he “displayed a firearm” on Thursday, March 7.
The 44-year-old Rangers fan moved to the United States in 2013 and was due to be married to his American fiancée this year.
Pennsylvania State Police has launched an investigation following the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: “On March 7, 2024, Hampden Township Police were dispatched to the area of the 5000 block of Erbs Bridge Road, Hampden Township, Cumberland County, for a disturbance.
“During the course of the investigation, the subject of the disturbance displayed a firearm.
“At that time, the officers discharged their firearms striking the subject. The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“Pennsylvania State Police’s Troop H Major Case team is currently investigating this incident.”
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: “We are providing consular assistance to the family of a British man who has died in the USA.”
Mr Fleming’s fiancée Kelly Shoemaker has set up a fundraiser to help cover the costs for his funeral.
