Glasgow to be transformed into Gotham City for The Batman: Part II filming

Glasgow will once again be transformed into Gotham City as filming for the new Batman movie gets under way.

Dozens of road closures and restrictions will be in place over two months after production crews arrive in the city from August 18.

STV News understands that up to four other film productions are shooting in Glasgow city centre this summer, resulting in further disruption.

Glasgow has been used multiple times as the fictional Gotham City, including in The Batman (2022) and Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises (2012).

The upcoming sequel directed by Matt Reeves will star Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.

New additions to the cast include Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Jayme Lawson and Charles Dance.

The Batman: Part II is scheduled to be released in cinemas on February 18, 2028.
