Commuters have been warned of travel disruption after a ‘small fire’ left trains unable to leave Glasgow.

Scotrail announced that services would be limited on Tuesday morning due to a “failure of the electricity supply” at Queen Street station.

The train operator has said overhead lines have been switched off as emergency services work on repairs.

NEW: Due to failure of the electricity supply between Glasgow Queen Street Low Level and Bellgrove, all lines are closed. This will impact services running the full route between Edinburgh and Helensburgh / Milngavie / Balloch. pic.twitter.com/AEIpUGm5G0

The fault is causing disruption on the Glasgow to Edinburgh line, as well as services to Helensburgh, Milngavie, and Balloch.

Passengers have been urged to check for updates on the Scotrail website.
