JD Wetherspoon is set to offer customers the “best possible” pub experience by giving one Glasgow location a £1.4m facelift.
The upgraded Sir John Moore pub, on Argyle Street, will extend across two former shops nearby to create a larger customer area, as well as a refreshed bar and new toilets.
Redevelopment work at the Central Station-adjacent venue began on July 17.
It will close to customers for two months, from August 3 to October 3 while the renovation is carried out.
The pub extension is expected to create 40 new jobs.
Wetherspoon area manager, Stewart Dumbreck, said: “The Sir John Moore is an extremely popular pub.
“This investment highlights our commitment to offering our customers the best possible pub.
“We are also pleased to be creating 40 new jobs.”
