A hazmat unit was dispatched after “potentially hazardous material” was discovered during a drug raid in Glasgow.

Police Scotland executed a drugs search warrant on Bargaran Road at around 3pm on Wednesday.

The assistance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was requested at 5.22pm after “potentially hazardous material” was found inside.

Two appliances and a hazmat unit were deployed to the area, with crews leaving the scene less than two hours later.

Police confirmed the wider public was not at risk and an investigation is ongoing

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, officers executed a drugs search warrant at a property in Bargaran Road, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended in connection with potentially hazardous material found within. There was no wider threat to the public. 

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were requested at 5.22pm on Wednesday, March 5 to assist our emergency service partners in the Pollok area of Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the city’s Bargaran Road, where firefighters assisted their partners before leaving the area as of 7.16pm”
