A lorry driver is to be sentenced for causing the death of a young cyclist in Glasgow.

Emma Burke Newman was killed after being involved in a collision with an HGV at a set of traffic lights on Broomielaw on January 27, 2023.

The 22-year-old was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the incident but died a short time later.

Paul Mowat, 69, pled guilty of causing death by careless driving at Glasgow Sheriff Court in February.

He will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing on Thursday.
