Homes in Glasgow have been evacuated after a bomb disposal squad was called.
Police discovered a “suspicious item” at an address in Dalmarnock Road on Friday morning.
Several streets have been closed off as a precaution but there have been no injuries.
Inspector Stevie Kinvig said: “As part of an ongoing police inquiry, officers attended an address on Dalmarnock Road around 4.30am on Friday when a suspicious item was found within.
“As a precaution, a number of surrounding residential properties have been evacuated and roads surrounding the area have been temporarily closed.
“There are no injuries and the EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) are currently in attendance. Inquiries remain ongoing into the incident.”
A Royal Navy spokesman added: “I can confirm that a Royal Navy bomb disposal team from Northern Diving Group, based at HM Naval Base Clyde, are attending the scene in support of Police Scotland.”
Dalmarnock Road is closed in both directions and Baltic Street is closed at Garvald Street, Glasgow City Council said.
