Homes plunged into darkness as power cut reported in Glasgow

A number of homes in Glasgow’s West End are without power following a power cut.

SP Energy Networks said there is a power cut affecting the G11 and G12 postcode area, which was reported on Wednesday evening.

Homes in areas such as Patrick, Broomhill, Hillhead and Hyndland may be affected by the loss of power.

Engineers aim to restore power by 7.21pm, but may be able to get some customers on sooner.

A statement read: “The timeframe may change based on our investigations and the work required to fix the issue. We will keep you updated with any changes.”

They added: “We are sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”
