A house has partially collapsed after a fire tore through the building overnight.
Firefighters were called to reports of a blaze on Ewart Drive, Airdrie at around 3am on Saturday.
Six appliances were sent to the blaze and a number of special resources were called.
Residents of eight neighbouring houses were evacuated as a precaution.
FIrefighters worked to extinguished the fire but the building suffered a partial collapse as a result.
It is not yet known if anyone has been injured and the cause of the fire is unknown.
Police and firefighters are still in attendance.
SFRS: “We were alerted at 3.08am on Saturday, 27 June to reports of a dwelling fire
“Operations control mobilised six appliances and a number of special resources to Ewart Drive in Airdrie.
“Firefighters extinguished the blaze.
“The building has suffered a partial collapse and SFRS remains on the scene.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.05am this morning, Saturday, 27 June, 2020, police and emergency services were called to a report of a fire within a detached house in Ewart Drive, Airdrie.
“They remain at the scene and enquiries are continuing.
“The occupants of eight nearby houses were evacuated at the time as a precaution, however, four have since been allowed to return.
“The others remain with family and friends.”
