Hunt for driver after car caught on CCTV fleeing hit-and-run in Glasgow

A driver has been caught on CCTV fleeing a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian injured in Glasgow.

At around 2.10am on Saturday, a person was struck and injured by a black hatchback car on Nitshill Road close to the entrance to the retail park for J&W Carpets, Matalan and Lidl.

The vehicle was travelling westbound and did not stop following the collision.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.

A Police Scotland statement read: “Around 2.10am on Saturday, August 16, 2025, a pedestrian was struck and injured by a black hatchback motor vehicle on Nitshill Road, Glasgow, close to the entrance to the retail park for J&W Carpets / Matalan and the Lidl Store.

“The vehicle was travelling westbound.

“This motor vehicle is captured on CCTV and does not stop following the collision.

“Officers are appealing for witnesses to the crash to get in touch. Also, any drivers who were on the road at that time and have dashcam footage which may assist, please contact us.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0477 of August 16, 2025.”
