Police are hunting for a man after a teenager was robbed at knifepoint in Ayr.
The 19-year-old victim was left “shaken” by the incident which occurred when he was approached by a man who demanded cash.
The incident happened around 2.40am on Sunday, outside a property in the Princes Court area of the town.
The man, aged around 20 to 30-years-old, held a knife and took the teen’s mobile phone which was later recovered by police.
Officers are now searching for the person responsible.
He is described as a white male, aged around 20-30 years-old, and of medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket and light-coloured trousers.
Detective constable Ainsley Sweeney said: “Fortunately no one was injured and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We are keen to trace the man involved and I am asking anyone who saw what happened or saw the man to get in touch.
“In addition, if you were driving in the area and have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation then please make contact with us.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 0613 of Sunday, August 6, 2023. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
