Police are hunting for an armed man after money was stolen in a robbery at a shop in Wishaw.
The suspect entered the store on on Stewarton Street at around 6.30pm on Saturday and demanded money while holding a bladed weapon.
He made off with a quantity of cash and was last seen heading towards the Stonecraig Road area.
The suspect is described as white, of slim build and was wearing blue joggers, a blue and orange jacket and trainers.
The man is described as aged in his 20s, around 5ft 11 in height and of medium build.
He was wearing a dark face covering, a grey hooded top which was covering his head, a light-coloured baseball cap, a dark blue outer jacket and black trousers.
Detective Constable Catriona Blair said: “Thankfully, nobody was injured during this incident. Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened or remembers a person matching the description to contact us.
“Similarly, anybody local with private CCTV, doorbell cameras or drivers with dash-cam footage should also contact us as you may have captured something which could assist.”
