An investigation has been launched after a man was attacked after getting off a bus in Hamilton.
The 39-year-old victim had just exited the vehicle on Burnbank Road around 9pm on March 18 when he was attacked from behind on the street.
He was punched and kicked to the ground by at least two people.
The man managed to get help from a member of the public who called the police.
The victim was taken to Hairmyres Hospital by ambulance, where he was treated for serious injuries. He has since been discharged.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or drivers with dash cam footage of the incident to come forward
Detective constable Caroline Galloway, Lanarkshire CID, said: “If you were in Burnbank Road between 8.50pm or 9.10pm and have dashcam footage from the street or the immediate surrounding area, I’d ask you to contact police as it is possible you may have captured the assault or indeed the people responsible in the area.
“Please contact the police with any information that may assist our investigation via 101. Quote incident number 3548 of Wednesday, March 18, 2026, when calling. Alternatively, details can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
