Police are searching for a van driver who struck a man standing at the side of a verge following a crash on a bypass in Edinburgh.
A 29-year-old man was hit while standing on the verge off the A720 city bypass around 3pm on Sunday.
The man had earlier been involved in a minor crash at the Sheriffhall roundabout, and was exchanging details at the side of the eastbound carriageway with another driver at the time of the incident.
He sustained an arm injury but did not need hospital treatment.
Police say the van, which is believed to be a Citroen Relay, did not stop, and officers are appealing for information.
Constable Stewart Logan said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to find the driver of this vehicle, and we are asking anyone who saw the incident to get in touch.
“If you were driving in the area around this time, please also check any dash-cam you have to see if it has captured what happened.
“I am also appealing to the driver to get in touch.”
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1833 of Sunday, May 17, 2026.
