A young walker had to be stretchered off a hillside in Dumfries and Galloway after suffering a leg injury while on a walk with her family.
Moffat Mountain Rescue Team was called out to Criffel, near New Abbey, at around 12.42 on Thursday.
Eight team members were sent to the scene to assist the injured ten-year-old girl.
After providing pain relief and assessing the injury, the group put a splint on her leg before stretchering her off the hillside.
The casualty’s family also walked safely off the hill with team members.
The girl was transferred to Scottish Ambulance Service crew members who were waiting on site.
They provided ongoing care and transferred her to hospital.
