An investigation has been launched after a 14-year-old girl was raped in a park in Paisley.
The incident took place in the town’s Fountain Gardens between 5.30pm and 7.30pm on Monday.
Officers investigating confirmed that enquiries into the incident were at an early stage.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police are investigating a report of the serious sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl within Fountain Gardens which occurred at some point between 5.30pm and 7pm on Monday, October 2, 2023.
“Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
