An investigation has been launched after a shop worker was threatened with a substance during a robbery on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to a store on Glebe Place in Cambuslang on November 9 after a man stole a sum of money from the till.
The man entered the shop at around 4.45pm and asked for cigarettes before claiming he had forgotten money and leaving.
He returned to the shop, demanded money, and threatened to throw a substance at the store worker before leaving with a sum of cash.
The thief is described as white, around 5ft 3ins, and with blonde facial stubble. He was wearing a green jacket pulled up to cover part of his face, black trousers, and grey trainers.
Detective Constable Karen Hay said: “Fortunately the shop worker was not injured but left very frightened by what happened.
“We are appealing anyone who saw the man or knows where he went or where he might be to get in touch.”
Those with information are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2480 of Saturday, November 9, or make an anonymous call to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
