An investigation has been launched after a cannabis farm worth £523,000 was seized in Glasgow.

Officers made the discovery after searching a property Broomloan Road at around 3.15pm on February, 24.

Police Scotland said an “extensive” cannabis cultivation was discovered within the property.

Enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.

The force is urging anyone with information regarding drugs in their area to come forward.

Detective sergeant Jon Atkin said: “This is a significant recovery and highlights our efforts to disrupt the trade in illegal drugs across Scotland.

“It also underscores our commitment to the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.

“We continue to urge anyone with information or concerns about drug-related activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“Anyone with information related to this specific recovery should quote incident number 0996 of Monday, 24 February.”
