An investigation has been launched following the death of a woman.
Emergency services were called to Pladda Avenue around 6.15am on Tuesday following reports of the death of a 76-year-old woman.
The road was closed and members of the public were urged to avoid the area.
Investigators do not believe the death is suspicious, however, enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
A Police Scotland statement read: “Around 6.15am on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, we were called to a report of a death in the Pladda Avenue area of Irvine.
“Emergency services attended and a 76-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family are aware.
“The death is not believed to be suspicious and enquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
