A man has died following a flat fire in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to a blaze on Carnoustie Street around 7.20pm on Tuesday.

A man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he died a short time later.

The death is being treated as unexplained, and investigations are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.20pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, we were called to a report of a fire at a flat on Carnoustie Street in Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended, and the fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“A man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, however he died a short time later.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
