A probe has been launched after a teenager was discovered dead outside in Dumfries and Galloway on Sunday.
Emergency services were alerted to an unresponsive person in the Dalrymple Street area of Stranraer close to the Galloway Community Hospital.
A 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing, however, detectives do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
The next of kin has been made aware.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.20am on Sunday, August 17, we received a report of an unresponsive person in the Dalrymple Street area of Stranraer.
“Emergency services attended and a 17-year-old male youth was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are aware.
“Enquiries are ongoing but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
