A Jet2 flight bound for Glasgow was forced to make an emergency landing at an airport in Tenerife following a bird strike shortly after take off.
Passengers on Flight LS126 jetted off from Tenerife South airport on Wednesday evening heading towards Scotland when the plane was forced to return to its departure point.
The Boeing 737 aircraft suffered a bird strike shortly after take off from the Canary Islands around 6pm, and the plane was forced to make an emergency landing.
Passengers were subject to delays as the airline confirmed a replacement aircraft took those on the disrupted flight to Glasgow.
A Jet2 spokesperson said: “Flight LS126 followed standard procedure and returned to Tenerife South Airport shortly after take-off on Wednesday January 3, after the crew reported a minor fault indication.
“The aircraft landed safely, and customers were transferred onto a replacement aircraft and flown back to Glasgow Airport.”
