A person was taken to hospital and three lanes of the M8 westbound were blocked after a two-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon.
The collision happened near Junction 14 at Royston at around 12.40pm.
Traffic Scotland said debris was left blocking the inside three lanes as well as the vehicles involved.
Emergency services including police and ambulance attended and one casualty was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
The road was cleared and reopened at around 1.40pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.45pm on Monday, July 31, police were called to the westbound M8 in Glasgow, near J14, to a report of a road crash involving two vehicles.
“Officers are in attendance and recovery is being arranged.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12.48pm today to attend a two-vehicle RTC at Junction 14, M8. One ambulance was dispatched, and one patient was transported to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
