A lifeboat was dispatched on Thursday night after three children disappeared on paddle boards.

The Loch Lomond Rescue Boat was alerted to the incident at Milarrochy Bay by Police Scotland at around 9.39pm.

The crew were launched immediately and began to search the area along with the assistance of a Coastguard helicopter.

Shortly after arriving it was confirmed by Belfast Coastguard that the children were back ashore. The rescue crew spoke to the family and ensured the children were well.

A spokesperson from the charity said: “Loch Lomond Rescue Boat were paged by Police Scotland at 9.39pm last night April 24 to reports of three missing children on paddle boards last seen at Milarrochy Bay.

“Crew responded and launched immediately and, once at the reported location, immediately began a search of the area.”
