iStockA section of the M74 was closed in both directions after a crash on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called to the motorway at around 6.35am after a crash near Junction 9.
The road was initially only partly blocked but has now been closed in both directions as Police Scotland and Scotland Fire and Rescue remain at the scene.
Traffic Scotland tweeted to say: “The M74 is closed in both directions due to a collision.
“Police and Fire Services remain in attendance. Traffic also looking extremely slow northbound with a travel time of over 30 minutes already.”
Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue have been contacted for comment.
