A section of the M8 motorway near Glasgow Airport was closed due to concern for a person on the road.

Police were called to the motorway at the White Cart Viaduct around 12.45pm on Wednesday.

The westbound carriageway of the road, close to the airport junction, was closed as a result.

The road was reopened around 3pm.

Traffic Scotland posted that congestion had cleared from the area at around 3.30pm.
