M8 drivers face 'lengthy delays' after roadworks overrun

Drivers faced lengthy delays on the M8 due to roadworks.

Overnight works on the motorway eastbound between junctions 18 and 15 ran over into Tuesday morning, keeping the road closed to rush-hour traffic.

Traffic Scotland warned that there was no access to the carriageway from Junction 16 Craighall, Junction 18 Charing Cross and Junction 19 Anderston from 6.35am.

“Lengthy delays are to be expected”, a spokesperson said.

Disruption continued until 9.35am with traffic backed up from M77 Junction 4 and M8 Junction 28.

Junctions 18 – 15 reopened while Junction 19 onlip remains closed due to police incident.
