M9 closed in both directions and drivers urged to avoid road

The M9 was closed in both directions near Stirling as emergency services respond to an ongoing incident.

Police Scotland said the motorway was shut between Junction 9 Pirnhall Interchange and Junction 10 Craigforth Interchange at around 8.40am on Tuesday.

Police were responding to a report of concern for a person, the force said.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area and use an alternate route.

Traffic was being held on approach at around 8.20am.

The M9 reopened shortly before 11am.
