A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a police officer in Inverclyde
Police were called to reports of concern for a man in Greenock around 2.05am on Sunday in the East India Harbour area.
A disturbance took place and an officer was stabbed before a man made off in a dinghy.
A major operation was launched before he was subsequently arrested at Rhu Marina near Helensburgh.

The injured police officer was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to a stab wound and has since been discharged.
Jake Barrett appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday facing a charge of attempted murder and theft. The 31-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear in court for a second time within the next eight days.
