A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman more than 30 years ago.
Shona Stevens was discovered badly injured on a path near her home in Irvine, North Ayrshire, on November 10, 1994.
The mum-of-one had visited the Co-op store within the Bourtreehill Shopping Centre around 1pm before leaving on foot and was last seen alone around 1.10pm on Towerlands Road.
The 31-year-old was discovered injured yards from her home within a wooded area just ten minutes later. She died in hospital.
Fraser Kilpatrick appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday charged with murder.
The 67-year-old from Glasgow made no plea and was remanded in custody. He is due to make his second court appearance within the next eight days.
