A man has been charged with allegedly assaulting and sexually assaulting two teenage girls in South Ayrshire.

Police said a 68-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the assaults on Prestwick Road, which runs from Prestwick to Ayr, at around 7.30pm on Saturday.

He has been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.

A Police Scotland statement read: “A 68-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the alleged assault and sexual assault of two teenage girls on Prestwick Road, Ayr around 7.30pm on Saturday, November 16.

“He has been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.”
