A man has died in hospital four days after being hit by a car in North Lanarkshire.
Officers were called to the scene of a crash on the A721 Bellshill Road at the junction with Logans Road in Motherwell at around 9.10pm on Sunday, March 17.
A 68-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a white Ford Puma and taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died four days later on Thursday, March 21.
The driver of the Puma, a 24-year-old woman, stopped the car before being struck from behind by a blue Vauxhall Corsa.
A 24-year-old woman was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
No one else was injured during the crash as police said enquiries are ongoing.
Sergeant Stewart Taylor from the Motherwell Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family at this difficult time.
“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and would ask anyone who has not yet come forward with information to get in touch with police.
“We’re also keen to hear from motorists with dash-cam footage from the area to come forward.
