A man has died in a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A71 in North Ayrshire.
Police were called to the crash, involving a grey Kia Ceed and white DAF HGV, on the westbound carriageway between the Corsehillmount Roundabout and Warrix Interchange around 11am on Thursday.
Emergency services attended and the driver of the car, a 70-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for investigations and reopened around 4.40pm.
Police Scotland is urging anyone with information to come forward.
Constable Josh Forrester said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died, and we continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash and the events leading up to it.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the Kia Ceed being driven in the area prior to the collision.
“I would also urge anyone with dash-cam footage or any other information that could assist to contact police.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 1163 of July 31, 2025.”
