A man has died after being hit by a car in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on the A96 near Colpy around 7.15am on Friday.
The 76-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 26-year-old woman, was uninjured.
The road was closed for seven hours to allow for investigations but has since reopened.
Police Scotland has urged anyone with information to come forward.
Sergeant Sarah Ritchie of the North East Road Policing Unit said: “My thoughts are with the family of the man who died, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“I would like to thank the members of the public that stopped and assisted at the scene.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage to contact Police on 101, quoting incident number 0517 of the February 21, 2025.”
