iStockA man has been left in critical condition after he was struck by a car in Renfrewshire on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to Fenwick Road in Giffnock following a crash involving a pedestrian and a black Ford Fiesta car at around 7.50pm.
A 76-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His condition is described as critical.
The 25-year-old male driver was not injured.
Sergeant Fraser McEwan said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I am now appealing for the help of the public.
“I am asking anyone who witnessed the incident, has relevant dash cam or CCTV footage or any information to please contact us.”
