A man accused of raping a teenage girl in a park is to stand trial next year.
Olimpio Ernesto, 51, faced the claim during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
The Angolan national allegedly attacked the then 16-year-old girl in Victoria Park in the city’s West End on September 7, 2024.
The rape charge includes a claim that the teenager was under the influence of alcohol at the time and incapable of consenting.
Allan MacLeod, defending, told the hearing: “He pleads not guilty.
“There is a special defence of consent. We are ready for trial.”
Judge Norman McFadyen went on to set a date of June 28, 2027, in Glasgow.
Ernesto, of the city’s Anderston, remains on bail meantime.
