A man has appeared in court accused of seriously injuring his ex-partner and setting her flat on fire.
Mark Gray, 34, allegedly assaulted the woman at her home in Cambuslang on January 16, 2025.
Court papers state Gray struck her on the head and body with a mop, then repeatedly hit her on the head and body with a hammer.
The charge says that Gray, also of Cambuslang, went on to seize her and then repeatedly punched her on the head to her severe injury.
A separate allegation states that Gray also attacked a 16-year-old girl at the property.
It is claimed that he seized her by the hair then punched her to the head and body.
The allegations further say that Gray forcibly pressed his thumbs into her eyes to her injury.
Another charge states that Gray behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by approaching the girl while in possession of a hammer.
It is claimed that he chased her and made threatening gestures towards her.
He is stated to have shouted, swore, uttered threats of violence as well as attempted to seize a dog.
Gray is further alleged to have made threatening gestures while in possession of scissors.
Gray faces a separate charge of assaulting another woman at the property by punching her to the head.
He is also accused of assaulting two police officers by throwing cans of alcohol at them.
Gray is stated to have also thrown scissors at another officer.
A fourth officer is claimed to have been the target of racially aggravated conduct by Gray.
A tenth and final charge claims that Gray wilfully set fire to the flat, which caused “extensive fire and smoke damage” to all rooms in the property.
The blaze is also said to have caused residents in the building to be evacuated.
Gray made no plea at a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court, where he was represented by his lawyer, Leon Kondol.
Gray was remanded in custody and committed for further examination by Sheriff David Taylor.
He will appear at court again within the next eight days.
