Two charged after woman left seriously injured in 'murder bid'

A 36-year-old and a 17-year-old have both been arrested and charged over the incident.

Two people have been charged in connection with the attempted murder of a woman in Annan.

The incident took place in the Fernlea Crescent area of the town on Wednesday.

Emergency services attended the scene at around 9.55pm and a 43-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy over the incident and they have both since been charged.

A statement released by the police said: “Two people have been arrested and charged after a woman was seriously injured in an incident in Annan.

“A 43-year-old woman was taken to hospital after the incident at Fernlea Crescent around 9.55pm on Wednesday, 15 October, 2025.

“Two males, aged 17 and 36, have been arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder.”
