A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a woman at a block of flats in Glasgow.
Police were called to a property on Kirkton Avenue in the Knightswood area around 8pm on Tuesday, March 17, over concerns for a person.
Joanne Newlands, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a post-mortem, her death was treated as suspicious, and a murder investigation was launched.
Brian Hughes was arrested in connection with the death and later released pending further enquiry. He was then charged in connection with the death.
The 49-year-old appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, charged with murder and domestic abuse offences.
Hughes was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court again within eight days.
