A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a grandad who was allegedly stabbed near his home in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Dalness Close in the Tollcross area after they were alerted to a disturbance at around 12.25pm on Monday, February 9.

James Greenhorn, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives said they were treating the incident as targeted and the death as murder.

Kyle Morrison appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday charged with murder.

The 23-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear again in court within eight days.

It comes after Sean Murray appeared in court last week also charged with Mr Greenhorn’s murder.

The 30-year-old was also accused of fleeing to Liverpool following the alleged crime to avoid detection.

He made no plea at a private hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Murray was remanded in custody and committed for further examination.
