A man has been arrested after armed police responded to a stabbing in Paisley.
Emergency services, including firearms officers, were called to a report of a man seriously injured at a property on Blackstoun Road, near Glencoats and St Fergus’ primary schools, at around 7.05pm on Monday.
A 66-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, consistent with being stabbed.
His condition is described as stable.
A 67-year-old man was arrested after being traced at a property in the Westwood Gardens area a short time later.
Police say enquiries are ongoing.
Chief inspector Iain Farmer said: “I understand this was a concerning incident for the local community; however, I would like to offer reassurance that there was no risk to the wider public, and we are treating this as targeted.
“I’d like to thank the public for their patience and assistance while we attended.”
