A man has been arrested after a car was allegedly driven at a police vehicle before crashing in Glasgow.

Police were made aware of reports of a silver Peugeot 207 being driven dangerously on Provan Road around 5.40pm on Saturday.

Officers attended and the car was driven at them on Cumbernauld Road. There were no reports of any injuries.

A short pursuit took place and the car came to a stop on Birkenshaw Street after crashing.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Constable Rose Richmond said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us.

“The area was busy at the time and I would also ask anyone who has mobile phone footage or dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”
