A man has been charged after a schoolgirl was sexually assaulted at a bus shelter in Renfrewshire.
The 16-year-old girl was attacked at the stop on Paisley’s Causeyside Street at around 6.15pm on Monday.
On Thursday, police confirmed a 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date.
Officers, who thanked members of the public who helped their ongoing investigation by coming forward with information, are still looking to speak to two females who spoke to the girl around the time of the incident.
Detective Inspector David Tomlinson said: “I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far.
“I’m still keen to trace two females who spoke to the girl at the bus stop around the time of the incident. I’d urge them to contact us.”
