A man has been arrested following a disturbance involving a ‘bladed weapon’ inside a shop in North Lanarkshire.

Emergency services were called to a vape shop in the Condorrat area of Cumbernauld at around 11.20am on Monday after reports of an incident.

No one was injured but a man was arrested in connection with the disturbance.

An investigation is still ongoing and the road remains closed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.20am on Monday, 23 December, 2024, police received a report of a disturbance in a shop in Main Road, Condorrat, Cumbernauld.

“Emergency services are in attendance. There are no reports of any injuries and one man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing. Main Road is temporarily closed as emergency services deal with the incident.”
