Man arrested as 20-year-old taken to hospital after serious assault

A man has been arrested after a 20-year-old was taken to hospital following a serious assault in Ardrossan.

Emergency services were called to Stanley Road at around 11pm on Sunday.

A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment after being seriously assaulted before being discharged.

Police confirmed that a 23-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11pm on Sunday, April 5, 2026, we were called to a serious assault on Stanley Road in Ardrossan.

“A 20-year-old man attended hospital for treatment before being discharged.

“A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He’s due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.”
